Did you ever wonder what your life would be like if you were a normal human (mostly normal) adopted by a family of vampires? I know what you are thinking. It’s always one of two things. Oh, is he hot like Edward? Or omg you gonna be a blood bag. Well, I am here to tell you it’s neither. (Okay maybe he is a little hot but he is beefy hot not a pretty boy I could beat up.)
They are loyal, caring, and treated me better than my human family. But things get awkward when my sort of brother is poisoned causing him to bite me, and the local werewolf pack hates me and decides to try to kill me, or when I get stuck in my own mind unable to awaken without some magical intervention.
It doesn’t help I decide the supernatural world should be equal opportunity for all so I am determined to change it. The humans, Fae, vampires, and werewolves will be allies instead of living in a constant state of uneasy truce. If only it were as easy to do as it is to say. But with the help of my two best friends, a witch and succubus, and my sort of brother/ friend/ally/? I will hopefully survive the process, even with interference from the big wigs like Merlin and the vampire king who is my sort of grandpa apparently...yup it’s crazy.
Amber's life has not always been easy. The one bright spot is that she accidentally discovered the supernatural world and to keep her from spilling her new secret she now goes to supernatural high school? Sadly being the only human there doesn't make her a cool rarity but a target.
Alastair is a vampire prince. He grew up on the battlefield and socializing is not his thing. His parents think he missed out on important social experiences and to correct that they enroll him in the most dreaded place in the world...high school. Amber is his first and only friend. Or as close to one as he will ever allow. So when he learns of her troubles he tries to help and immerses her in their world, literally making her a part of his family.
Amber is forced to adapt and while doing so she finds her life, and her path, changing forever.
Amber has finally done it! She has finally gotten the supernatural community to work together to allow humans and supernaturals to learn and grow from one another. Who knew gumption could get you so far!
The college is up and running and Amber will be helping other humans adjust to a world where they are no longer just pets and blood bags. Not everything is perfect though.
Not everyone agrees with the peace treaty between species or that humans are worth anything unless they are food or pets. High school was bad enough but a college full of entitled supernaturals and previously slaved humans is an explosive combination. Not to mention Amber once again has to face off against her arch-nemesis Adam...ahh the life of a human in a supernatural college.
So, the start of the year didn't go as planned but they are getting a do over so yeah...?!
Amber is now blood bonded to a vampire, aka a pet, which she was determined to never be. It goes against everything she has been fighting to change but it was that or she wouldn't live. She is practical enough to accept life and continue to fight for her dreams.
Luckily her personal life is keeping things interesting or life would get boring. Her adoptive parents are fighting (and warrior vampire couples do NOT fight like human couples), she has to decide how to handle this thing with her and Al, and worst yet she has to face off against her inner self. Because sometimes the past comes knocking and gives you no choice but to answer.
Normal college: New relationship, check. Best friend/boyfriend drama, check. Parental split up, check.
I wish it could be that simple but well my life is never easy. Because on top of all the normal stuff I am dealing with a pissed off council (because of the previously mentioned relationship), an unstable vampire court (sorry mom grandpa is insane) which of course leads to a revolution, a tortured werewolf, a demanding Fae leader, oh yeah and college classes I must ace to graduate. Can I fast forward a decade?
DO NOT READ until AFTER you have completed the The Complications of Supernatural Adoption Series
Powerful, crazy, legendary. He has been called all of these. But so far I have simply known him as my teacher. He has given me his blood and so like him I will live forever. Though he has freed me from the bond tying us together I stay. There are many things yet to learn. At least that’s what I tell myself. But could there be another reason?
